- Like KOF '97 player has two choices of playing style advance or extra power gauge with a few slight changes.

- Extra Power gauge shorter with the entry of every team mates, means 1st team member defeat the battle then with the entry of new team member the gauge will be shorter from old one then if 2nd member also defeat, the power gauge more shorter for 3rd member.
- In advance mode condition are reverse from extra power gauge with the entry of new team member 1 power gauge increase every time and unlike KOF '97 Max power can use for 1 special combo only. game with Advance mode selected starts from 3 gauge and and when Your 3rd player is on-the screen the number gauges are 5.
- All Character of this game come from last four parts of the series. Like,
- Vice, Mature and Iori team mate again after KOF '96
